My Coffee Quest: D'ci Coffee

A little small, a little out of the way but definitely not little in taste.

Always a bit of a queue for this place.

Always a bit of a queue for this place.

I don't name every coffee establishment I go to drink my black water, I experiment around, I like to try out different places, different coffees and to experience different auras. I like the contrast between a high class coffee house and the street vendor.
So where have I been for the past few months? Well I have been trying a lot... and I mean A LOT of coffee recently. I may be back to my previous habit of uncountable mugs of coffee a day.
And so in this experimentation I have been trying to find my favourite places to grab a coffee and this one is down there in the "nitty-gritty" places in Bangkok to buy coffee.

Situated on Thanon Phaya Thai, it is only a stones throw away from Chatuchak Market. You may find it easy to get to by stepping off at Saphan Khwai BTS station and heading south for about 30 yards.
Nestled by shops and people selling gold trinkets and fabulous smelling food is the small coffee shop.
The shop/stall itself sells coffee... and some tea, but the main focus here is coffee. It shouts it on all its signs and neon light.... COFFEE!
Indeed that is what you get coffee. Not soy based milky crap but coffee. There is not really that much to talk about because it is simple.... coffee!

Small, but powerful stuff.

Small, but powerful stuff.

There is no seating available, so you can get your coffee for "on the go" or just chill out and take in the surroundings. For the utter chaos Bangkok sometimes presents drinking this coffee is like a soothing aria that blocks out the mental cacophony of noise emanating from the everyday life of Bangkok.

I don't know where they get their coffee beans, but I can tell you their beans were produced somewhere in northern Thailand.

They also provide a selection of hot and cold teas that will definitely replenish you on that scorching Bangkok day.

Key facts:

  • Situated a stones throw away from Chatuchak Market and just south of Saphan Khwai BTS Station.
  • Open every day
  • Coffee!
